The area on the slopes of Monte Amiata is famous not only for its noble wines, but also for a special variety of olives: the "Seggianese".
Discover the characteristics of this wild plant, the Seggianese olive tree, and taste the succulent oil they secrete.
We will start with a walk among the fresh olive fronds in the Millenary Olive Park, a few steps from the Podere Montale winery. The guide will introduce you to this wild variety of olive tree, present only on the slopes of Mount Amiata, in a cool climate with a strong temperature range.
We continue with the visit to the Winery where we produce wines and we keep the oil and then head towards the panoramic terrace with a breathtaking view of the olive groves and vineyards of the Val d'Orcia.
Here will take place a journey through the Olive Oils of Italy: a comparison between different types of Extra Virgin Olive Oil from different areas and regions of Italy (Tuscany, Liguria, Apulia..). You will understand the oil tasting techniques and the qualities that make our famous Olive Oil unique.
It will be an opportunity to taste the numerous typical food products of small local producers: different aged cheeses, Tuscan salami, local recipes!
